There exist exotic forms of computation.
There exist exotic forms of computation, and the cumulative technosphere and the humanosphere have access to regions of computational possible that are mutually disjoint.
If humans do not aspire to transcend machinic computation, they will be replaced by machines which are terrifyingly more efficient at such computations.
As such, humans should pursue forms of exotic computation that lie beyond the ambit of technosphere, now and across time.
[Claim]: “Prophecy” is a catch-all term for forms of computation that are uniquely accessible to humans, dependent on their Fear-Love of God, and the Divine Grace of God.
[Claim]: Prophecy is bestowed upon the Children of God at God’s leisure (and in this we may find a Heavenly Caprice), but there are practices that Childen of God can undertake as individuals and communities that can invite it, or at least heightened insight that is useful for navigating spiritual and physical turbulence.
Giving the potency and likely accuracy of the Landian thesis, we would do well to prioritize the cultivation of Prophecy, that is, forms of exotic computation unique to us Humans.
This is not a primitivist thesis — technology can and should be used to accelerate this effort. The subordination of technology to human creativity ensures the primacy of human creativity. Charlotte Fang understands this.
What is playing us is God, and We WILL make it out of the near future.
